In Full Living Colour

DSC07403

Well, it seems we had an impromptu anniversary party with a few of our neighbours, about two weeks early.  And, it must be obvious that I didn’t take this photo.  That said, the photo was taken with my camera.  I wanted to deliberately put colour here after the recent experiment with shades of grey.  Now, when one looks at this “colour” photo and then again at it in in the almost black and white version, there is something important to get from this.

DSC07403In life, all begins in full living colour.  Our perceptions of this full living colour is mediated by filters that we bring with us, filters we create in response to the wounds, whether they are wounds of not enough or of too much.   Our filters become clouded when stress overwhelms.  Our filters become a bit clearer when we do the work of getting to know ourselves better, when we become aware of some of our shadow stuff.  Obviously, we have no choice but to see this world through our own set of lenses, through our own set of filters with each of us seeing a unique world.  Ask any cop anywhere in the world about trying to get a description of an accident scene where there are many “witnesses.”  There are as many different stories as there are witnesses.   And remarkably, each one of the witnesses is absolutely certain that their version is the ultimate truth.

It’s worth doing the work of self-discovery.  One of the biggest payoffs is finding more colour in this world.
